Dick Stanton - Fine Artist
..Dick started his artistic journey in high school where he learned the basic elements of design and composition. After serving his country in the Navy for four years, he continued his artistic journey when the GI Bill made it possible for him to attend Meinzinger's art school in Detroit. There he studied color, design composition and perspective. More recently he completed a course in air brush at Lansing Community College.
His artistic talents have encompassed 40 years in visual arts with the J.L. Hudson Company, Winkelman Brothers and numerous freelance positions. He retired after 30 years in the position of Display Manager for Jacobson's stores in Jackson Michigan.
He has a great fondness for working in pen and ink, With the majority of his subjects being homes, lighthouses, businesses and old barns. He is continually working to add more drawings and new subjects to his already large collection. He is also proficient in calligraphy, scrimshaw and scratch board and has done a variety of work for the Jackson Symphony Guild, churches, and wedding and other announcements.
